Access high speed fiber optic wifi from anywhere on the palace grounds.

Downstairs there is a public pay phone, on a separate line so you can receive calls as well as make them. It costs 10 cents a minute to anywhere in the world.

How to find us

Walk up the main street (Trafalgar St) to the cathedral steps and turn right. As you walk down Selwyn Place, you will see The Palace Backpackers directly in front of you.

We are an eco friendly hostel, using solar power and recycling everything possible.

This historical colonial villa may be a stone’s throw from downtown Nelson, but you’d never believe it when you stay here. Set in an enchanting garden with plum and lemon trees and flowers scenting the air, The Palace could be a million miles from anywhere.
